Cedar Cohousing, who organized this event held on February 27th, was one of four presenters. The idea of our Parade of Cohousing was to showcase three urban cohousing communities that Cedar hopes to emulate, much as local realtors love to show off new residential properties in the Spring and Fall. We were delighted to have represented Richmond Cohousing in Richmond VA, Takoma Village Cohousing in Washington, DC, as well as PDX Commons in Portland OR. The first two are multigenerational and located close to the urban core. PDX is also in the heart of Portland but is for 55+. The purpose was to provide attendees with a discussion of the benefits of living in cohousing directly from people who are doing it.  Happily, we were able to record the event in Zoom and it is available for your viewing pleasure right here.

Fall is here and I wanted to get out into the woods with my daughter one last time! We headed up just north of the twin cities and spent a night at a local state forest...the weather was rainy which lent itself to some nice fog on the Snake River in the morning...s'mores were a must and I practiced my marshmallow roasting skills by maximizing the number of marshmallows I could get on the roasting stick.

Back at home we are preparing for our upcoming talk on density in co-housing. We continue to make progress and strides forward and I look forward to sharing my love of nature and the outdoors with my co-housing community!

 Oh my has Covid left us all in a whirlwind this summer! Despite all of the craziness that has hit the U.S., Minnesota and Minneapolis in particular, we here at Cedar CoHousing have still forged on and have spent time in community, fostering friendships and getting to know each other as we prepare to build a co-housing community!
One thing we have done this summer is to get together at the park for picnics social distance style. It has been a great way to feel connected and to get to know each other while staying safe. We have a few more coming up this summer and are opening them up to anyone interested in learning more about Cedar CoHousing!
