Saturday August 24, 2019 11AM - 1PM Southdale Library 7001 York Avenue South, Edina Ethel Berry Room, 2nd floor
Philip Adams, an engineer, renewable energy and electric car enthusiast will speak about how the citizens of Minnesota could spend $1.5 Billion per year for electricity for their cars instead of $ 9 Billion a year we spend for gas. What happens to MN GDP? How many wind turbines are needed to power all of our cars? What happens when we throw the refinery away? Philips will attempt to answer these questions and YOUR questions too! With over 100,000 miles of EV experience. Philip is a member of Northwest Metro Climate Action, MN EV Owners Group, supporter of Fresh Energy, and a board member of the DFL Environmental Caucus.
After Adam’s talk Basset Creek Cohousing will show two short videos about cohousing, and share our vision of building our urban cohousing homes to the Passive House standard, and creating a custom neighborhood of clustered homes and common facilities. We expect our homes will not be heated by fossil fuel. There are 160+ cohousing communities operating in the U.S. - they are intentional communities and many more are in development. The Bassett Creek Cohousing group will give an overview of cohousing and discuss its site search plan for summer 2019 Join our quest to find like minded future neighbors.
