with Grace Kim of Schemata Workshop Seattle

Saturday August 3  from 3 PM to 5 PM at Southdale Library  7001 York Ave S Edina, MN
TITLE: Cohousing Promotes More Engaged, Active and Longer Lives.

TED Talk- Grace Kim: How cohousing can make us happier (and live longer)- 10 min.
&
PBS video: Cohousing communities help prevent social isolation- 8 min.

Grace Kim, a nationally recognized architect and expert on cohousing, discusses how living in an intentional community enhances quality of life, happiness and longevity. Grace shares a community design idea that reflects an age-old antidote to isolation: living where people choose to share resources with their neighbors, get to know each other, and look after them. It’s a combination of private homes and common spaces that form a village-like community. The concept started in Denmark in the last half-century, but has successfully migrated to the United States, where it’s called cohousing.  https://youtu.be/mguvTfAw4wk
